Dear
Uncle Wally.
First off, I would like to say that I think Walmart is a good company when it comes to certain polices. However they do have their flaws like any other company. For example; Management. When it comes to them, they definitely play favorites. When it comes to employees and "The Open Door Policy?" I think it's kind of a joke from personal experience with it. Most times nothing ever gets done about the problem. Let me tell you how this policy works in my store before I go any further, let's say you are having problems with a co-worker that you work with. You go to manager's office and request an Open Door. You then sit in the office with a member of management (if they have the time) and explain the situation. They then are supposed to call the co-worker in and talk to them. Half of the time they don't say anything to the other person. Until they get enough complaints about the co-worker. Cart Pushers; Are constantly being told to push the carts faster. When they ask for help, they can't get any help. However during a cart pushers lunch brake you will often see five or six other employees out in the parking lot pushing the carts. Walmart does do a lot for the community as well as for the Children's Miracle Network. They also help employees that are sick, and on medical leave. They call this the Sunshine club. They also have medical, dental, and stock options for their employees. Employees also get a 10% discount on things they buy. I think that if Sam Walton was still alive the stores would be run differently and I don't think that there would be as many people complaining about the store, its staff, or it's polices as there would be praising it. Sam Walton started a department store chain, hopping that it would continue the way he wanted it. Now with him not in the picture you have the home office doing one thing, and the store manager's doing something else. This came straight from the inside. |
